Clinician Spotlight: Meet April Lipnitzky, Your Partner in Resilience

At Restore Counseling & Recovery, we are proud to have compassionate, dedicated professionals on our team who help clients navigate life's challenges. Today, we are excited to introduce April Lipnitzky, MSW, LSW, a Licensed Social Worker whose passion for advocacy, social justice, and supporting others shines through in her work.

April's path to becoming a therapist is one of perseverance, heart, and deep purpose. With over 17 years of experience in higher education at Rock Valley College and Saint Anthony College of Nursing, April has always been committed to empowering others. However, her desire to provide hope and tangible resources to individuals led her to pursue a new career in therapy.

At nearly 40 years old, April courageously returned to school while balancing full-time work and single parenthood. As one of the first women in her family to earn a graduate degree, she brings a rich perspective rooted in resilience and life experience. April comes from a diverse background, being part of a mixed-ethnicity family with Mexican and Jewish/Polish roots, that enhances her ability to connect authentically with clients from all walks of life.

April works with a wide range of clients, from young adults to seniors, creating a safe and welcoming environment where healing can begin. She specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, and relationship challenges.

Using a collaborative and strengths-based approach, April integrates several evidence-based techniques into her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family of Origin Exploration, Mindfulness Practices, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Her goal is to help clients build resilience, uncover their strengths, and move toward meaningful change.

When April isn't in the office, she enjoys exploring new places and cultures through travel, soaking up the sun whenever she can, and going on motorcycle adventures with her husband. These activities bring balance, joy, and inspiration to her life.

April is also a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), reflecting her commitment to the field and to continuous professional growth.

April's deep empathy, professional expertise, and passion for social justice make her an invaluable part of the Restore Counseling & Recovery team. Her ability to listen, advocate, and guide clients toward transformation sets her apart as a true advocate for change.

If you're looking for support in navigating life's challenges, April is here to walk alongside you.
